A yummy way to use yellow squash!
CHICKEN SQUASH CASSEROLE
6 cups aquash, peeled and shredded
2 cups diced, cooked chicken
1 /2 cup onion, chopped
1 /2 cup green peppers, chopped
2 10.75 ounce cans of cream of mushroom soup
2 cups shredded cheese
Seasoning to taste
Preheat oven to 350. In a greased 9 X 13 inch baking pan, layer ingredients with the cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until squash is tender.

1) does Lovina make any pickled beets or does the family prefer them the way Joe does?
2) re Loretta's muscle challenges, would the drs recommend anything like jacuzzi and give the family a prescription for one and they would be able to claim it when they file their taxes?

Kevin, I thought previously I used to be able to go into the recipe tab at the top of your website and see a listing of recipes in a particular category. EX: If I clicked Main Dish, it would list all these recipe titles. Now when I click the category, I get a scrolling list of recipes as part of the column they are in. So now I have to flip through pages to get what I am looking for. Did something change? Am I doing something wrong? I just want a title list of the recipes in a category so I can quickly click on the one I want, thanks.

Yikes, Teresa...I hadn't seen that...obviously some sort of gremlin...I'll get on fixing that asap, it is not supposed to look that way..thanks for telling me!

I really do love the recipes the recipes that Lovina shares with us, thank you. Our garden is always plentiful also and always nice to try something new with fresh picked vegies etc.. I would like to ask about 'cream of mushroom soup'. We do have it in our supermarkets here in Australia, but most store bought items contain 'yeast extract' which I am severely intollerant to. Does Lovina have a recipe for Cream of Mushroom soup which can be done from scratch and then perhaps frozen until when needed?

Try cream of chicken or cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom. Hopefully they won't have yeast extract in them. I have found they are interchangable. Chop up a few mushrooms and add if you like.

Hi,
I was wondering if the problem with this year's squash was due to squash bugs. We had a real infestation and they ate up the plants right as they started to flower. Just wondering about that!

My problem is with the recipe of Chicken Squash Casserole. The flavor is great, but there must be a step not put down as I had so much juice from the squash that have of the casserole was juice and then top was the good tasting dish. Do you need to put salt on the shredded squash and then let it leach out the juice before using, otherwise it is way too runny.
