This recipe is under the paywall (not that I feel a need to justify every paid posts, but there are some people who truly don't understand so at least for awhile explanations probably help) because it comes from Berne, Indiana's Amish settlement and I had to travel to get it. Â So the premium content section helps offset the costs for me to bring you the most authentic Amish recipes, stories and photos.
This is an extremely simple-sounding chocolate cake recipe given to me by an Amish woman by the last name of Graber in Berne, Indiana. Common last name and very old recipe. I'm eager to give it a try! NOTE: SHE DID NOT PUT A BAKING TIME ON THE RECIPE, I GUESSED AT 20 MINUTES, but use the "toothpick test!"
