Ponies are the "tricycles" of Amish culture. Â Horses are the weighty animals used to pull big buggies and heavier loads, but ponies are great for children and teenagers just learning to "drive." Â Or for a quick run to the market. Â Amish Cook columnist Gloria Yoder lives near a little bulk food and grocery and the pony and cart is perfect for a quick journey to the store. Â When I was visiting last week her younger sister met us at the market with the pony and cart, which would soon be loaded up with groceries. Â
