Easter eggs are an old Christian tradition. This may be one of the links to what I think is the Amish connection to the Eastern Orthodox. The eggshell represents the empty tomb.

Eggs are also a good way to illustrate the trinity.
I'm wondering about the jelly roll pan called for in the recipe - what I would call a jelly roll pan has 1/2 inch sides. Is this what she uses?
Kevin
Wendy, she is using one with 1-inch deep sides.

The white cake sounds really good. Does it use self rising flour or AP Flour? Thanks Sue
Kevin
Lovina would just use all-purpose...

Hi Kevin, Please tell Lovina to have Lovina checked for Corneal Dystrophy. I have cogans map-dot corneal dystrophy and one of the syptoms is easily scratching the cornea or getting tears on them from things as simple as an eyelash or the sleep that forms during sleeping. thanks, Tracey
Kevin
Tracey, thank you, I will pass that along. Hopefully that is not the case, but good info for her to have! - Kevin
