It’s been a little while since we’ve done a Blogroll post, so let’s buckle up, jump into the Blogmobile and see what we’ve been missing in the world of Plain posts. First stop: cookies!
AMISH LEMON COOKIES: Check out Patricia’s latest Amish creation, a delicious dessert that marries two of my favorite flavors: sugar and lemon! Click here for the recipe.
PEEKING AARON: No, a “peeking Aaron” is nothing like a Peeping Tom. This is a cute depiction, another painting perfecto from Rhode Island artist Cheryl McNulty, I’m always excited to see her newest Amish-themed creations. To see her latest painting, entitled AARON’S PEEKING. Click here. And if you are ever in Lancaster County, stop by Pebbles N Lace, a gift store in Lititz, the heart of Amish country. At Pebbles & Lace you’ll find some of Cheryl’s painting and Amish art emblazoned items like tote bags and mugs by Cheryl.
HOME JOYS: Gina is a Mennonite Mom and blogger in Pennsylvania, her website shares recipes, ideas, and stories from their close-knit family. She’s been handling her husband’s diagnosis of a brain tumor last year with grace and, unfortunately, her husband’s condition doesn’t seem to be improving. Check in with her and offer your prayers here.
PINECRAFT: This is THE peak of peak season in the Amish winter enclave of Pinecraft, Florida right now. Man, if you are near that area and have the chance to go now, go. You’ll be greeting with bustling streets, full shuffleboard courts, long lines at Olaf’s, and a heaping helping of hospitality everywhere you go. I love Katie Troyer’s photos from this special place, check out this post and some of her others here.
MARY FISHER’S CHICKEN CASSEROLE: Check out this hearty, delicious Amish dish from Charm City ramblings, click here!
