On most Amish farms, hog butchering is over with for another year (who wants to do that hot, smelly job in July?). Â So that means many Amish homemakers are awash in fresh pork now which finds its way into patties, chops, beans, and more. Â Here are five favorite ways that pork is featured in Plain kitchens.
- 8 pork chops
- 1 c. ketchup
- 1 can celery soup
- ½ c. chopped onion
- 1 or 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Mix the ketchup, celery soup, chopped onion and Worcestershire sauce together and pour over the pork chops in a buttered casserole dish.
- Bake at 275 degrees for 2 hours.
