    5 Amish Pork Recipes

    Published: Apr 8, 2017 · Updated: Apr 8, 2017 by Kevin Williams | 2 Comments

On most Amish farms, hog butchering is over with for another year (who wants to do that hot, smelly job in July?).  So that means many Amish homemakers are awash in fresh pork now which finds its way into patties, chops, beans, and more.  Here are five favorite ways that pork is featured in Plain kitchens.

MENNONITE SWEET AND SOUR PORK CHOPS
    • 8 pork chops
    • 1 c. ketchup
    • 1 can celery soup
    • ½ c. chopped onion
    • 1 or 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
     Instructions
    1. Mix the ketchup, celery soup, chopped onion and Worcestershire sauce together and pour over the pork chops in a buttered casserole dish.
    2. Bake at 275 degrees for 2 hours.

It seems to be something more prevalent in the south!
