    5 Summer Amish Picnic Recipes

    Published: Jul 1, 2016 · Updated: Apr 30, 2020 by Kevin Williams | Leave a Comment

I did a post like this for Memorial Day weekend and I'll do it again now with different recipes.  And, wow, these are some good ones!  The Amish, by the way, may marginally participate in Fourth festivities. Unlike Memorial Day which some feel has militaristic overtones, the Fourth is a birthday celebration.   So the Amish will take the extra day off like anyone else does, watching parades, having picnics, going fishing or just spending the day at home with family.  In general, the Amish are such hard-workers they deserve the day off!  Anyone of these 5 recipes will make your picnic sing this weekend!

HOMEMADE CORNBREAD SALAD:  Mmmm, this is a favorite from Gloria. Check it out here!

AMISH PEPPERED DEVILED EGGS:  What a refreshing treat to eat! Click here.

AMISH GRILLED CHICKEN: This is a great grilled chicken formulation given to me by an Amish man.

HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY PUDDING:  This is a super refreshing recipe given to me by a Mennonite woman in Tennessee.

MENNONITE FRUIT DESSERT:  I've posted this recipe before, but it is such a good one for a summer picnic, I'll post it again!
