    7 Easy Amish Bars

    Published: Apr 29, 2016 · Updated: Apr 29, 2016 by Kevin Williams | 2 Comments

You walk into an Amish bar and....oops, nope, that sounds like a joke.  Nope, in this case "Amish bars" don't mean the kind serving up drinks.  You won't find many Amish people at those. Nope, I am talking about delicious, decadent, easy bars or "squares."  Why do we love these so much?  Because in a house full of children (and that includes most Amish homes) there just isn't much easier than a dessert which simply requires "dump, stir, and bake."   But bars are also versatile, they can be fruit-filled or chocolate-swirled or loaded up with marshmallows. Yum!   So for today's Friday Favorites will take a walk through our "Amish Bar Hall of Fame" at some of our favorites!

AMISH SEVEN LAYER BARS:  As the name implies, these bars have a bit of everything in them! Click here.

HEAVENLY OATMEAL BARS:  Check out The Amish Cook's easy recipe for these delicious after-school snacks! Click here for Heavenly Oatmeal Bars!

    Amish Swiss Roll Bars

SWISS ROLL BARS:  Really, what is there to say about these?  They are knock-down, calorie-laden amazing. Click here for the recipe.

VANILLA CRUMB BARS:  Either as a pie or a bar, this is one of my favorite Amish desserts. Check out Amish Vanilla Crumb bars here.

HOMEMADE GRANOLA BARS:  These are some delicious alternatives to store-bought, got this recipe from a Swartzentruber Amish family. Click here for homemade granola bars.

AMISH RHUBARB BARS: If you like rhubarb, then this bar is a good bet!

HOMEMADE APPLE BARS:  Yum, I know we think of apples as a fall food, but you can enjoy them year-round in these bars! Click here.

I love the fact that number 1.) All recipes are time trusted, no one really knows how old some of the recipes are. 2.) Everything is very simple to make. 3.) The flavors are superb. 4.) Alot of the's recipes are the same ones my grandmother made, but never written down. These take me back to a very special time in my life.
