    Adams County Amish Autumn

    By Kevin Williams

I cruised through south-central Ohio's edge of Appalachia area on Wednesday.  SIGH, my good camera, for reasons, unknown decided not to focus so I really missed out on some gorgeous autumn shots.  The hills were cloaked in colors, just past their peak, but still resplendent in reds, oranges and beautiful browns.  The roads were filled with horse-drawn buggies and the Amish schools were abuzz with the chatter of children.

So, since my camera wasn't cooperating, I used my phone camera has a back-up and came away with some decent shots to share.  The hills of Adams County are dotted with numerous home-based Amish businesses which I enjoy exploring. Raber is a common name here, as is Miller and Yoder.

DARK HORSE: This horse was a black beauty, almost hard to see against the threes....it's pulling a small one or two-person cart, instead of a traditional buggy
