Bean dip looks yummy! The cabin must have had electricity if she was using a crock pot. I bet she enjoyed using various crock pot recipes while they were there on vacation.

I have sent several requests for you to run the Amish Recipe for V8 juice. Don't want to bother, but don't know if request was ever received.

      Thany you

Lovina may be interested to note that Coleman now makes a slow-cooker that runs on propane. It is meant for camping, but I think it could be useful sometimes, particularly on a day when you don't want to heat up the kitchen.

i would think with a family that size a large crockpot would be a necessity. it seems they do not require as much energy and that it is nearly impossible to have a meal that is not delicious.
I am hoping it meant that Lovina really was able to feel refreshed after her week at the lake. Did Elizabeth not go along?? How interesting that swimming in the lake would relieve the muscle tension. Does their public school have swimming or perhaps they have a CCS centrer with a pool..If they do there are usually knowledgeable folks that can assist with specific needs. or a Y

      Judy --

There are compilation books available that go back to the early days of the column when it was written by Lovina's mother, Elizabeth. Just click on "Book Store" at the top of the page and you will see all the options. They are really fun to read and include lots of recipes to boot.
