    Amish Cook: Chocolate Chip Cookies

    CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

    9 eggs

    2 cups butter or margarine

    2 cups shortening

    4 1 /2 cups brown sugar

    2 ¼ cups white sugar

    1 tablespoon vanilla

    Mix together well and then add the following:

    12 cups bread flour

    1 ½ tablespoons baking soda

    1 tablespoon salt

    4 1 /2 cups chocolate chips

    Mix well and drop by teaspoon (or use an ice cream scoop) onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes depending on size.

      Another great column by Lovina. That chocolate chip cookie recipe must make like a million cookies - WOW! Lovina must be used to cooking in large quantities!

      I called them yesterday and ordered a copy- it is $21.35, plus $6 shipping, and they will send a catalog from their store. Ivan, who I spoke with, was familiar with West Union area, in Oh, and also where I live. Great conversation.

      Just wanted to share that I called Chupp's on Thurs. the 17th,and my cookbook arrived today..the 19th. I am enjoying it and the lady at Chupp's was really friendly! I hope the girls do well with their book sales. Thanks for the info on ordering!
