    Amish Cook Classic: One-Kettle Soup

    Published: Feb 16, 2013 · Updated: Feb 2, 2021 by Kevin Williams | Leave a Comment

This is a great recipe from the Amish Cook archives, perfect for a cold winter's night like tonight.  You can use homemade noodles in it or store-bought.  This is a photo of some of The Amish Cook's homemade noodles simmering on the stove.  Yum!  If you want to try the easy one-kettle soup recipe, I have it below.  This is classic comfort food, an easy "one pot meal" that is part of many Amish cooks culinary arsenal. The one-quart of beef in this recipe would typically be home-canned "beef chunks".  You can use some similar store-bought meat.

    ONE KETTLE SOUP

    1 quart of beef

    4 potatoes or more, diced

    1 package of noodles

    salt and pepper to taste

    1 onion, diced

    Cook potatoes,

Cook potatoes, onions, and noodles together until done. Add beef or beef soup base to your taste.onions, and noodles together until done. Add beef or beef soup base to your taste.
