Gloria Yoder doesn't have many mouths to feed - yet. So she doesn't need a huge canning storage area like an Amish mom with a huge family. A simple cabinet serves just fine. I thought I'd give everyone a peek at her canned goods. Some yummy looking stuff in this cabinet! Can you identify what you see? Obviously green beans stand-out. Looks like there are some peaches next to the green beans. And maybe apples? But I can't tell for sure. In the bottom photo it almost looks as if there are some canned potatoes, but I'm not certain either. I think in the bottom photo I also see some home-canned tomato sauce. I'm not sure what the colorful jar is with the green, red, and white. Obviously the white are onions, and the red, are those peppers? What else can you identify.
Much of the cooking and baking in Gloria's home is scratch-made. She cooks in a very organic, locovore, self-sufficient way and this stash of canned goods illustrates what she turns to when in need of a quick meal.
