Amish Etsy: Leather Belt, Minitature Buggy, Pie Safe and Amish Dog?

This is our continuing weekly series exploring everything Amish on Etsy, and there is a lot to look at!

AMISH BELT:  Wow, this belt looks amazing...handmade by Amish leatherman Mel Gingerich in Pennsylvania.  The quality is probably second to none. I have been to Amish leather shops and have kicked myself before for not buying a belt. $45 for a handcrafted Amish belt that will likely last a lifetime is not bad! Check it out here.

MINIATURE AMISH BUGGY:  Wow, I am in love with this! This is where Etsy is a great place to find true original stuff that you can't find anywhere else. This is a hand-made miniature buggy in the style of what you'd find in the "Big Valley" of Pennsylvania.  If you read the product description, it sounds like a real authentic, wonderful hand-made keepsake. Check it out here.

AMISH PIE SAFE:  I don't know  that I'll ever have $2000 that I want to blow on a piece of furniture like this. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful piece of work. But if you read the fine print it says may be Amish in origin.  Not that its "Amish-ness" matters much, it is still a beautiful piece of furniture. But regardless it is $2000.  So, nope.  But you can check it out here.

AMISH DOG???   This craft caught my eye, especially because of the $365 price tag.  What exactly makes it an "Amish Dog?"  I'm assuming it means "Amish made", late 19th

So, what makes this an "Amish Dog?"

So, what makes this an "Amish Dog?"

century.  Sheesh, I'd want some sort of certificate of authenticity I would think....What do you think? Worth $365?  I'm just lousy at

Oh my that dog is not worth that at all! Geez! We bought a Shetlin Sheep Dog ( Sheltie) from an Amish Family in Indiana years ago and they only charged us $300.00 for a female!
