Amish Etsy: Model Amish Home, Church Peanut Butter, and Much More!

My life has been a hodgepodge of career directions, but my association with the Amish will follow me for the rest of my life. And I envision someday being in a comfortable writing studio with momentoes reminding me of yesteryear and, wow, oh wow, oh double wow, wow, would this one make my wish list!

AMISH MODEL HOME:  What I really like about this is that it is so realistic.  Yes, a lot of Amish people live in the classic two-story white clapboard farmhouse.  But there are plenty of  Amish that don't.  This reminds me of countless Amish homes I have seen over the years.  At first, I thought, wow this would be great for Aster and Bea, but geez look at all the small pieces.  They do terrible when it comes to toys with small pieces.  Yes, this definitely wouldn't be a toy, it'd be a treasure. AMISH PEANUT BUTTER CHURCH SPREAD:  Now, you know, for $5 I'd consider ordering this.  And here's why:  yes, you can make your own at home.  Absolutely you can.  But Amish church peanut butter spread is actually one of the few, few, few things that I almost think commercially-made, big batch versions taste better, and I think it's the consistency factor.  You make it at home yourself it'll be slightly different each time.  And this version, which is not a big factory making it, it's just a small-batch commercial version, which is is perfect...anyway, this version is flavored with maple syrup.  Huge difference.  You can use corn syrup, many Amish do, but the absolutely best version of this amazing spread is made with maple. Check it out here.

AMISH LEMON FRIED PIES:  Lemon isn't my favorite.  Until you squirt lemon filling inside a fried pie, THEN, for some reason, it's amazing. Not sure why, but a lemon-filled fried pie is just..well, pure bliss.  And you can order some yourself.  Man, these look good.  It is unclear how many you get in an order, I would hope - and highly doubt - it is $20 for one fried pie.  Check it out here.

    Amish cinnamon-sugar friendship bread...

AMISH CINNAMON AND SUGAR FRIENDSHIP BREAD:   If you have always wanted to try Amish friendship bread before but didn't want to hassle with two-weeks worth of instructions, this is a good option.  Just order a loaf and be done with it.  This looks really good. Click here.

HOLY SPIRIT WELCOME HERE:  I liked this because it seems to me to be very genuine piece.  And. yes, I am going solely by the sellers name: Marietta Troyer.  Very Amish.  Yes, I suppose it could really be someone named Hildegard Maxwell in Arizona churning these out under a false name, but I doubt it.  Marietta probably is only a generation removed from the Amish (if I had to guess) and this is a very authentic, simple Amish spiritual message.
