Geez, I hesitated posting this first story because I want people to come to Amish365 to feel good
HORRIFIC CRIME AGAINST AN AMISH WOMAN: You know, this is a horrific crime no matter who it happens to, whether the person is Amish or not. Is it somehow worse when you add the Amish element? I’d be interested to hear your opinon. I think, in my view, there’s the “vulnerability” issue that makes this somehow even worse than it already would be. The monster had to have known that the Amish woman wouldn’t likely resist, wouldn’t have access to a phone, might not even report the happening to the cops (I am glad she did). I can often find a redeeming quality in any and I give people a lot of latitude but a crime like this is, just, well indefensible and I’m glad he was caught. Click here to read this disturbing story.
AMISH ROMANCE: On a lighter topic, author Shelley Shephard Gray continues to churn out Amish romance novels. What is it about Colorado Springs and Amish romance novelists. Beverly Lewis lives there and now Gray. Anyway, click here to read about this elementary school teacher turned Amish romance novelist. I’ve never read any of her work, but perhaps you have….
AMISH BIKE TOUR: One of these days I’ll start riding again…and when I do, this annual event in Delaware’s Amish country would be high on my list. Click here to read about this September staple.
MILLE’S HAM & CHEESE BUN STICKY SANDWICHES: Man, this is a good recipe, a variation of one that the Amish Cook has put in her column. Check out the latest with Millie and the recipe here.
CIDER-INFUSED APPLE PIE: Check out this amazing-sounding seasonal favorite from a Mennonite woman in Lancaster County. Wow, click here.
