The Amish are being impacted by the coronavirus crisis just like anywhere else. My guess is that in the smallest, most remote and rural communities, it is not as much of a factor. Yet.  But larger communities and small, more progressive New Order settlements are pretty engaged and it sounds like they are following local health mandates.
An Amish school in Adams County, Ohio Most Amish schools are obeying state rules now and are closed.
AMISH PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS SHUTTER: In some states, Amish schools are closing, but are cutting class side in half with children alternating attendance day to day. In other areas, they are closing entirely, like everywhere else. Click here to read how Amish schools are handling the crisis.
AMISH TAKING CORONAVIRUS SERIOUSLY: This is an article about how the Amish settlement in Bloomfield, Iowa is facing the coronavirus closings and mandates. I think Bloomfield is probably pretty representative of what you are finding in Amish settlements.
Hutterite singers serenade seniors.
HUTTERITES AND CORONAVIRUS: And the Hutterites are taking it seriously also. It has to be very difficult for Huteries since they literally live communally. The Amish have communal aspects to their lives but at the end of the day they all retreat into their homes, but the Hutterites are much more connected, coronavirus is forcing them to do the opposite.
MILLIE'S CHICKEN AND RICE SKILLET SUPPER: Sounds like church has been called off among the Amish in Arthur, Illinois also. Check out Millie's column and recipe here.
This is my vinegar pie,
THE PIE YOU NEED RIGHT NOW:  I've been saying this for years, now someone else is: vinegar pie. Truly, it's an amazing pie despite the not very appealing name.  Vinegar pie has been popular in Amish homes for years. Click here to read more and get a recipe!

Are the Amish businesses going to be affected as badly by Covid-19?
Kevin
Hi, Shannon, it just depends on what the business is...an Amish bakery is probably getting clobbered by this, but a one-woman quilt shop, probably not so much, BUT, any Amish business that depends heavily on tourism is also getting clobbered...The Amish tend to take care of one another, so they'll get through this, but, yes, tourism-dependent Amish businesses will really suffer.
