Amish in the News: Grandma’s Chicken Salad, Hutterite Appreciation, Update on Linda Stoltzfoos, and More!

Let's sample what is Amish-related and in the news now:

    Linda Stoltzfoos - missing.

LINDA STOLTZFOOS:  Linda Stoltzfoods abductor Justo Smoker had his preliminary hearing this week and that is often when prosecutors lay out their case. We'll hold out hope for somehow the safe return of Linda, but I think it is safe to say it doesn't look good.  They have found her clothing, but they have not found her and her abductor is behind bars.  Click here for the latest.

    COVID STORIES:

AMISH STILL NOT MASKING UP MUCH IN HOLMES COUNTY: Authorities are still trying to get more Amish to comply more with masking ordinances. Click here for the latest.

HUTTERITE APPRECIATION:  Meanwhile, especially in Canada, Hutterites are coming under scrutiny because COVID cases have been soaring on some colonies.  That has led to a backlash of unfortunate incidents and harassment. So some non-Hutterite neighbors decided to put on a parade of appreciation.  Very nice.  Click here to read more.

    RECIPES IN THE NEWS:

GRANDMA'S CHICKEN SALAD:  Amish Country chef, Lee Ann Miller, offers up an amazing recipe for a homemade chicken salad.  Looks super. Click here for the recipe.

Homemade chow chow is a Pennsylvania German speciality

CHOW CHOW:  Ah, nothing like an end-of-summer chow chow.  Really is a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition. For a truly authentic recipe, check this out.

I recall Kevin saying he felt the girl ran off, I hope there was an apology for such an irresponsible assumption, he should be so grateful Amish are such forgiving people.

Hi, Lori....in my post I said "I'm tending to believe this turn out to be a voluntary disappearance. That would be a better scenario than some of the others I can think of" I was wrong, but I'd never apologize for hoping she ran off, is there this turned out better than her running off? Absolutely not. What a tragedy.
