AMISH INVESTMENT SCAM: A former Amish man has been ordered to repay millions to Amish investors whom he scammed with dubious investments. Some Amish lost their live savings. I think some Amish will have difficulty forgiving this man for their loss of money. Click here to read more.
TIKTOK AND THE AMISH: Apparently a multitude of Amish are discovering this social media app. I’ll have to check it out, but generally I just have time for Facebook and Linkedin, I don’t think I have the time or energy for more social media. MILLIE’S HARVESTTIME PICKLES: This is a super-sounding recipe from Illinois Amish writer, Millie Otto. Check out what is going on in her life and household this week here.
LEE ANN MILLER’S LUNCHIE MUNCHIES: This is really an “energy ball” recipe, but with a different twist or two. The recipe comes from Amish country chef, Lee Ann Miller. Check out the recipe here.
LEAVING LANCASTER: Sounds like the name of a novel, but this is not fiction, this is reality. More and more AMish are pulling up stakes form Lancaster County and headed to other areas. The pressure of land prices, suburban sprawl, and technology is just too much there. Amish families can move to rural Missouri, for instance, and find land at a fraction of the cost in a rural setting much more tuned to their lifestyle, Sadly, I think you’ll see many, many, many more Amish packing up in the deacde ahead.
