We have an interesting slate of Amish-themed stories in the news today so let's get right on it:
AMISH WOODWORKING: Â This is an interesting article in Amish Woodworking (I subscribe to this magazine. Um, just joking, a little dry humor) about how technology is changing traditional Amish woodworking methods. Click here to read.
MY AMISH HOME: Â Amish columnist Millie Otto talks about her upcoming trip to Ohio and shares a stromboli recipe, which is another good example of how Amish and Italian cooking can often overlap. Click here for Millie's Stromboli.
DINE IN AN AMISH HOME: Â Okay, drum-roll....this is awesome...I often get asked how you can enjoy an in-home authentic Amish-made meal. Â There are plenty of options for this type of experience that are available but it takes some detective work, and that work often can't be done online. Â But a writer for a Pennsylvania newspaper has done the detective work for us. Â Man, if I were going to be visiting Lancaster County, PA, I'd put this place - Ruth Lapp's - on my itinerary for sure. Â Click here to read more.
Sabrina Burkholder from Return to Amish, in trouble with the law again...
RETURN TO AMISH: Sabrina Burkholder arrested again...For those of you who watch "Return to Amish" sounds like this lady is always getting into some trouble...Click here.
RECIPES FROM JAMESPORT:Â These are some recipes from a cook being featured in Missouri Farmer Today. The cook isn't Amish but she is from Jamesport, the state's largest Amish community, and I could tell right away that some of her recipes were Amish-influenced. Click here for apple salad and more!
