POLICE AND THE AMISH: Amish residents in Geauga County are breathing a sigh of relief after the perpetrators of attacks against the Amish were caught this week.  Local law enforcement is patting themselves on the back for breaking the case saying that their work with the Amish has led to valuable inroads into the community.
The relationship between the Amish and police is virtually non-existent in some settlements and very cooperative in others. Â Read more about how the Geauga County police deal with the Amish and how the Amish feel.
LANCASTER AMISH: Â This is a typical summer travel piece about visiting Lancaster County, Pennsylvania's Amish settlement. Â The piece is really gung-ho on taking a tour, but that's not my favorite way to see Lancaster County.
For my favorite ways to experience the Amish community in Lancaster pick up a copy of The Williams Guide to Amish County from Amazon.  To read the news article in today's Newsday about touring Lancaster County by bus or buggy (or just by yourself), click here.
