The story of the abducted Amish girls in Upstate New York just gets more bizarre. I think the part that really is chilling is that the man accused of abducting the Amish girls had three children of his own. That is scary. The second take-away from this story is that the media can be very powerful in a good way. As the media coverage of the missing girls ramped up the abductors became spooked and let the girls go. Had the intense pressure and coverage of the media not been there, the Amish girls might still be held captive. So say what you want about the media, there are cases where it comes through for us in a great way.
