Amish in the News: Millie's Parsley Potatoes, Ham Casserole, Amish Corner, Mennonite Farm to Table, and More!

We have some fun stories in this week's News, so let's get right to it:

Gloria's column is  a superb window into Amish life, but there are others to be enjoyed....Sara Miller's Amish Corner is a truly authentic look into Amish life as seen through the Geagua County, Ohio Amish and then there is Millie Otto who writes from Arthur, Illinois.  Millie has recipes with her column, Sara usually does not.  Check out both columns below!

SARA MILLER'S AMISH CORNER: Read about Spring in Ohio's Amish Country! Click here.

MILLIE OTTO:  She shares two recipes this week, one for Ham and Potato Casserole and the other for delicous Parsley Potatoes. Check them both out and her column right here.

MENNONITE FARM TO TABLE:  I loved this article in the Finger Lakes Times about a local Mennonite family supplying fresh farm-raised veggies to top chefs in and around Rochester, New York.  Click here to read more.

UPDATE - Hutterites are backing off a plan to purchase a whole town in Manitoba. Click here to read more.

A fun, easy summer beach read, perhaps

AMISH GUYS DON'T CALL:  Honestly, it's not the book that caught my eyes as much as the fact that a small newspaper like the one in Chico, California still has a book reviewer.   Book reviewers used to be part of every paper but long ago succumbed to the budget knife, at least in most places, but apparently not Chico.  The book, though, seems like some fun, frivolous fiction if you like and want an easy summer beach read.
