We have some interesting stuff in Amish in the News this week, so let's get to it!

AMISH CAR CRASH:  The temptation to grab a neighbor's car keys and go out for a spin proved too tough for this Amish man.....click here.

An Amish buggy goes down the road in Colorado...

COLORADO AMISH:  I thought this was a really interesting article in a local Colorado paper. The New Order Amish have been outliers compared to more conservative sects of the Amish when it comes to utilizing "community buildings."  While the Amish have generally conduct church services in homes, "community buildings" have grown in popularity for some activities. CASINO APPROVED FOR EDGE-OF-AMISH COUNTRY:  You know, I just don't think this story is that big of a deal.  It's only getting traction in the media because of the "Amish" angle, but there really isn't much of an Amish angle, it's on the edge of Pennsylvania's Amish country.  I'm not someone who loves casinos, but I don't think this will harm the area's bucolic beauty. AMISH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY:  I loved this article in Equipment World Magazine. It's about an Amish man who runs a sprawling $14 million construction business and he's doing it the old-fashioned way, at least he started out that way. He's made some concessions to technology, but he's still a member of the Amish church. Click here to read about this success story!

MILLIE'S RHUBARB COFFEECAKE:  This is a classic, classic Amish recipe, click here to read the latest from Millie.....and get this amazing recipe. Click here.

BACON SALAD:  The Washington Post pays homage to the wonderful Pennsylvania Amish tradition of bacon dressing, and published this amazing sounding recipe for a bacony-pasta salad. Wow. Click here.
