Among the Old Order Amish of Indiana, sugar cream pie is a specialty. There are variations of this sweet treat, but nothing beats a sweet, silky, cream sugar cream pie!:) Â And this is a "mini pie" I picked up at Fountain Acre Foods Amish bakery yesterday in Wayne County, Indiana. Â Can't wait to dig into this beauty tonight!:) Â Meanwhile here is a recipe from the archives for this delectable confection.

Dear Kevin and Lovina, The sugar cream pie looks delicious! I will have to try it one of these days. I just received my copy of your new book - Amish Cooks Across America and am VERY excited to read it. I have looked through it a bit and it is so interesting and fun to read. Thank you so much for all of your hard, but rewarding work!! I have been gone for ten days and the area where we were staying in the mountains did not have Internet reception, so I am trying to catch up on your site - which is so enjoyable. Have a great evening. Sincerely, Colleen Rohrer
