    Looks wonderful, but 1.5 cups of oil is way too calorific for most folks.
    I suppose that most Amish have an active lifestyle that can allow such foods and maintain a healthy balance, but not too many of the rest of us
    can eat this way very often.

      i substitute sugar free applesauce for the oil; makes for a moist cake

    For you Southerners you can substitute fresh pears for apples. I do it all the time in recipes and comes out great
