Have a slate of interesting articles and recipes to share with you this week. So without further adieu, let's get to it!

HOMEMADE AMISH APPLE DUMPLINGS: Little Indiana brings us the quest for - and the recipe for - the most perfect Amish apple dumpling recipe. Click here to check it out.

OHIO AMISH COUNTRY:  This is one of the better pictorials of Ohio's Holmes County that I've seen, simply because it "captures everything."  If you plan to visit Holmes County, Ohio's Amish country, this blog post on Gypsy Road Trip's site sort of shows it all: beautiful farmsteads, yummy food, and kitschy shops. Check it out here. How many of these places do you recognize?

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND AMISH:  We've been discussing here for the past year how some Amish are scouting out Prince Edward Island, Canada as a possible place to plant some roots.  Apparently, it is going to happen.  As someone who studies Amish culture I find this an intriguing development.  Family ties are crucial to the fabric of Amish existence and living on an island would seem to be rather isolating (but that is why ferries were invented).  So this will be fascinating to watch unfold, and I guess I'll have to put PEI on my list of places to visit at some point! Click here to read more.

Chicken Corn Soup is an Amish country classic.

CHICKEN CORN SOUP:  Few dishes are more synonymous with Pennsylvania Amish cooking than the hearty, flavorful chicken corn soup.   As common as it is, finding good, easy-to-follow recipes for it can be a challenge.  This week a blog put one such recipe. Yum! Check it out here.

AMISH DROP SUGAR COOKIES:  Easy, flavorful and quintessentially Amish. Check out this delicious cookie recipe here!
