We haven't done a blogroll in awhile so thought we'd take a look at what is out there in the blogosphere to peruse.
First on deck:
WEST VIRGINIA AMISH: Erik Wesner had an interesting article about the Amish presence in West Virginia increasing. It has been a state that has largely been ignored by the Amish over the years, but that seems to be slowly changing. It makes sense since there is so much rural and relatively inexpensive land. While it may not be the best state for farming, it would be ideal for Amish shops, such as cabinet-making or bulk foods. Click here to read more.
Wow, this streusel peach cream pie looks good!
AMISH STREUSEL CREAM PEACH PIE: I love anything that has to do with peaches. Peach jelly. Peach coffeecake. Peach juice. Peaches. Yeah, give me peaches. So this "cream peach pie" made from an Amish recipe over at Patricia's Patchwork site looks amazing, check it out here!
ZUCCHINI BARS/CAKE: A super-looking recipe from Charm City Ramblings, wow, this looks incredible. And just in time for zucchini season. Click here.
VISIT TO AN AMISH BUGGY MAKER: I've visited many Amish and Mennonite buggy makers over the years and it's always fascinating to me. It really is an old-time craft, to make a buggy perfectly and to last. Amish Indiana has been doing some super wokr lately and this is another great post.
AMISH GIRL TAKING A BREAK: I love this newest Amish-themed painting from Cheryl McNulty. It is called "Amish Girl Taking a Break". She is selling fruit from her farmstead and then can't resist enjoying an apple herself. Love the sort of impish look she has, definitely a realistic scene. Click here to take a look!
