Amish Classic: Homemade Snickerdoodles
 
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 1 /2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2¾ cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Cream: butter, sugar, & eggs. Stir in dry ingredients.
  2. Chill dough for at least 20 minutes
  3. Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts.
  4. Roll into mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar & 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
  5. Place on ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes
