Easy Mennonite Almond Butter Crunch
- 1½ cups sliced almonds
- 3 /4 cup butter
- 1 1 /2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons water
- Melt butter in saucepan.
- Add sugar, syrup, and water.
- Stir until dissolved.
- Boil until hard crack (290 degrees) without stirring.
- Remove from heat.
- Add nuts and stir to coat.
- Pour onto greased cookie sheet and spread thin.
- Cool and break into pieces.
- Makes 1 1 /2 pounds of candy.
