Amish Creamed Celery

Ingredients
  • 1 quart finely cut celery
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • ½ to ¾ c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
Instructions
  1. Cook celery, salt, sugar and vinegar just until tender.
  2. Use as little water as possible.
  3. Make a sauce with the flour and milk and bring to a boil.
  4. Then stir in mayonnaise or salad dressing.
  5. Mix with celery.
  6. Serve hot.
