Ingredients
  • 1 c granulated sugar
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 lg egg, lightly beaten
  • ¾ c vegetable oil
  • ¼ c honey
  • 1 c walnuts, chopped
  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
Instructions
  1. PREHEAT the oven to 350°F.
  2. STIR the sugar, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon in a large bowl until evenly mixed. Then add in the egg, vegetable oil, honey, and nuts. Stir until the mixture is smooth. Spoon into an ungreased jelly-roll pan or a 9 by 13-inch pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
  3. TO MAKE THE GLAZE: In a small bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, vanilla, water, and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy. Spread onto the honey bars while they are still warm.
  4. STORE the bars in a sealed container or cake safe. These will stay fresh for 3 to 4 days.
