Caramel Custard Pie
 
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar, scant
  • 1 tablespoon flour, heaping
  • 2 cups milk (half cream)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 /2 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • pinch of salt
  • nuts
Instructions
  1. Mix flour, sugar, egg yolks, maple, and salt.
  2. Add cream to make a thin batter.
  3. Scald milk and cool.
  4. Add to other ingredients.
  5. Beat egg whites until they form soft peas.
  6. Fold into the remaining ingredients.
  7. Sprinkle with nuts.
  8. Bake at 325 until done.
