Meat and Vegetable Casserole
  • Fresh cabbage, coarsely cut
  • Potatoes, thickly sliced
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Meat
  1. In a roaster or baking dish, put in a thick layer of fresh cabbage.
  2. Then layer the potatoes, carrots, and onions on top of the cabbage.
  3. Repeat the layers until the roaster is full.
  4. Use only cabbage on the bottom layer.
  5. Last over all, put a layer of raw meat, elk or hamburger.
  6. Cover tightly with a lid or foil.
  7. Bake 1 1 /2 to 2 hours.
  8. Before serving, cover with cheese slices.
  9. Other fresh vegetables could be used in season.
