All I can really say about this is: wow!
Having the opportunity to eat at an authentic Amish wedding supper is a blissful experience and I have been able to partake in a couple over the years. Â Wonderful events! Â But if you can't attend an actual wedding, you can attend the next best thing.
WomenSafe (a NE Ohio non-profit battered women's shelter organization) is hosting an Amish Wedding Supper as a fund-raiser.  The supper will be held at Yoder's Home Cooking in Burton, Ohio.  Now, this isn't just a restaurant.  This is an actual Amish home that opens itself up for in-home dining events.  The meal isn't cheap: $30.  But, 1) it's for a great cause and 2) here is a sampling of the menu: baked chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, seasonal vegetables, seven-layer salad, date pudding, and home-baked pie.
I am sure the chicken will be fall-off-the bone amazing. Â If you want more info on how to sign up, click here. Â Believe me, if I lived closer, I'd be there!!
A note about Amish wedding suppers: Â the meals are held after the services and usually involving serving and feeding some 500 - 1000 guests. Â Usually no one has enough space for all of those people to eat at once, so there will be several "seatings"....the first group of 250 or so will eat, clear out, and then the next group seated. Â Most guests are tended to by younger "tablewaiters" and "tablewaitresses" who refill your drinks and make sure you have enough mashed potatoes, etc. Â Quite an experience!
