    Finished Potrait

It was a crazy Christmas, or at least post-Christmas, with my grandma suddenly passing, me getting sick, etc.   So we didn't get to open Aster's portrait until a couple of days after Christmas.  Aster was excited to open the package and immediately recognized the face looking back at her.

Cheryl definitely has a talent for capturing the personality and soul of a person.  So...drumroll...without further delay, you can click here to see the finished portrait of Aster.  Hmmmm, does that mean I have to do the same thing for Beatrice when she is Aster's age?

Rachel's Christmas gift to me is a painting class which I'll get to start taking in March.  I'm looking forward to the creative outlet.  I doubt my talents are in portraits, but, who knows, maybe I'll be able to do some good Amish scenes.

Nice job on the portrait! What a nice treasure to have up on a wall at your house. And yeah, you ought to do the same for Bea as well. I can still remember the super-nice Easter baskets my three older sisters got, courtesy of our grandmother. I guess she got tired of buying those fancy baskets when my mom and dad kept on having kids (eight in all). My younger siblings and I had to make do with smaller Easter baskets, probably bought by my parents at the dime store. I was always sure my older sisters got more Easter candy, just because their baskets were bigger! 🙂

Thanks, Aimee, I think it turned out well. Ah, yes, Easter baskets...It'll be that time soon....

Here in Bangor, Maine our K Mart and Macy's are closing. Both have been bought by a liquidation Co. and are
having a final clearance sale. Both will be closed by March. K Mart has been here forever and Macy's for 18
years. So sad to lose them. The Bangor Mall is practically a ghost town so many stores have closed. However,
business at Chick fil a is booming!
      PS Aster's portrait is beautiful.

Sharon, well I hate to hear that....I've been to the Kmart in Bangor....I'm surprised to hear about these shops closing in Bangor because there really aren't any other cities to shop in around there, so where are people going to shop? I love Bangor, been there 7 or 8 times over the years...one of my favorite, favorite places in the USA...SIGH, with two little ones I fear it'll be awhile before I get back but nice to know I have a reader there! - Kevin

Also, I guess the links are fixed, but the punctuation remains MIA. Hmmm, the "joys"of blogging.☺️

Seen Astor's portrait on face book . I commented. Cheryl is amazing. Love the portrait. Ya afraid you have to do Bea's too. Actually it would be nice to have a portrait of them together. Maybe when they are a little bigger and can sit still for more than three seconds while you or a photographer snaps their picture so Cheryl can do a portrait of both. It would be interesting to see how much they favor each other. So far I can see a lot of you in Aster.
