Thought I'd offer up a special Friday Amish in the News today with an interesting mix of articles!

First, I talk a lot about a local/regional supermarket chain around here called MARSH (I have a bit of a personal history with them, but I'll save that for another day).  Anyway, I fear their demise may be imminent. I touched upon the topic yesterday.  Even if you aren't from around here and have clue what Marsh is the article is still interesting to read.

BYE-BYE MARSH:  It appears this once storied grocery store chain is about to disappear. Click here to read more.

    ECLIPSE NEWS

There will be a solar eclipse this summer over parts of the midwestern USA. Amish Cook columnist, Gloria Yoder, lives almost right in the peak path.  I am going to try to get more information about this but an Amish/Mennonite farm in Kentucky will be hosting an "Eclipse Encounter" will speakers, stories, and food at an Amish farm in Fairview, Kentucky. Sounds awesome to me!  This is a short snippet about it from a Kentucky radio station with some sound files from an Amish or Mennonite man (you can tell by the accent) describing the event.

Interestingly, there is a website probably maintained by the local Mennonite church that gives much more information. Click here.

MILLIE OTTO'S RHUBARB DESSERT - Check in with Amish columnist Millie Otto this week who shares a recipe for "Rhubarb Dessert", perfect for Mother's Day!  Click here.
