Friday Cookie Blitz: Maple Lace Cookies

    Published: Feb 17, 2012 · Updated: Feb 17, 2012 by Kevin Williams | 5 Comments

Yum...nothing beats pure maple syrup!  So I thought I would share this fancy-sounding but surprisingly easy recipe from an Amish woman in Pennsylvania maple country.

    MAPLE LACE COOKIES

1 /2 cup pure maple syrup

    1 /3 cup butter

    1 /2 cup oatmeal

    1 /2 cup flour

Boil syrup and butter together for 30 seconds.  Let cool to room temperature.  Then add oatmeal, flour, and nuts.  Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet, allowing at least 3 inches in between cookies.  Bake at 325 for 10 - 12 minutes.  Cool on cookie sheet and carefully remove.  Makes 24 cookies.

These sound delicious and easy! But what kind and how much of the nuts do you use? It was left out of the recipe 🙁

Welcome, Judy! And you can use 1 /2 cup pecans...those are optional.

Good! Let me know how they turn out! And if you are able to email me pictures, that'd be great, I'll post them here!

Kevin, I made the Maple Lace cookies this weekend using 1/2 cup chopped pecans. They were delicious! Sorry, I don't know how to post pictures, but they looked pretty, too! 🙂 Thanks again for the recipe.
