Ah, my thoughts continue to drift toward that feast of the day coming up: Thanksgiving.  The next couple of "Friday Favorites" will feature some Thanksgiving dishes to help you plan your menu.   Our 2-year-old daughter, Aster, is getting so excited about the upcoming holiday.  She keeps asking me to "talk about it", to tell her about the different meals we'll have that day, who will be there, etc.  It's really cute.  Okay, so without further delay:

FRIED POTATOES:  Simple yet yummy Amish dish.  If you want easy formulation for some delicious crispy fried potatoes, click here.

MAPLE-DIPPED DOUGHNUTS: One word describes these beauties:  amazing. Okay, yummy, delicious and mouth-melting would also apply. Okay, mouth-melting is two words.  Anyway, I discovered these doughnuts in a tiny Amish bakery in the Conewango Valley of New York.  How about a recipe for some easy maple-dipped doughnuts?

BENCH WAGONS AND SONGBOOKS:  Take a walk down memory lane and look at these church songbooks and a bench wagon from the Berne, Indiana community.

SCENES FROM THE HOME PLACE:  Revisit one of my favorite Amish/Mennonite bakeries around Thanksgiving, click here to read about The Home Place in Georgetown, Ohio.

AMISH POTATO STUFFING: Take a look at this yummy Amish potato stuffing recipe which will be a hit on anyone's Thanksgiving table! Click here.
