I know there will be lots of hams out there next week. Some of them will be moist, fall-off-the-bone kind, others will be dry and flavorless. If your ham is need of some attention, I thought I'd share a favorite Amish glaze recipe used to perk up tired hams. So let's start out with that recipe, and then we'll move on to some square recipes, and then some Christmas cheer!
HOMEMADE HAM GLAZE: This is an easy Amish glaze recipe that will resuscitate even the most lifeless hams.
HOMEMADE SQUASH SQUARES: These are super easy, yum! Click here for the recipe.
FRUIT-FILLED OATMEAL SQUARES: This is a festive, colorful dessert that will liven up any Christmas dessert table. Click here for the recipe.
HANDMADE AMISH CHRISTMAS CARDS: I love this post from a year or so ago, I think it really illustrates how the Amish celebrate Christmas. As the homemade cards show, they do celebrate it, but it's often just in a very low key way. Food and sending (and receiving) Christmas cards are popular ways to mark the holiday.
