This website has been around in one form or another for over 15 years. Â That is thousands and thousands of posts. Â The newest WordPress version has been around for about 5 years. Â That means there are thousands and thousands of interesting, high-quality posts. Â We get newcomers to this site and email list daily and even regulars can't have read ever single post over the years. So I thought I would start a new feature called "Friday Favorites" where I link back to some of my favorite posts. Â This is a great chance to catch up on recipes and posts you might have missed, ones that are favorites of mine anyway. So let's get started!
PINWHEEL COOKIES: This is a delicious cookie that is popular among the Amish. Â It's not an overly sweet cookie, but it is really good. Makes a wonderful "breakfast cookie" and is a nice change from a gooey, sweet cookie. Â This is just a very pleasant snack cookie. Try it, and they are pretty to look at with their swirls! Â Click here to enjoy!
RIVVEL SOUP: Â Funny, because before there was the Amish Cook's Gloria Yoder, another Gloria Yoder was well-known: the owner of Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen in Mount Hope, Ohio. Â Check out her recipe for wonderful rivvel soup. Yum!
THE PLANE PEOPLE: Â Do the Amish ever fly on airplanes? Â This post should give you the answer!Â
LAUNDRY BEAUTY: Â This is probably the most beautiful place in the country to do laundry if you are Amish, Check out this breathtaking scene.
