Today is National Pi Day,celebrating that mathematical constant that probably somehow impacts all of our lives in ways we don't ponder often. The first Pi Day was observed in 1988 and since then enterprising bakeries have jumped on the bandwagon using the day's phonetic similarity to celebrate "pie."
