    Happy PI/Pie Day!

    Today is National Pi Day,celebrating that mathematical constant that probably somehow impacts all of our lives in ways we don't ponder often.The first Pi Day was observed in 1988 and since then enterprising bakeries have jumped on the bandwagon using the day's phonetic similarity to celebrate "pie." So whether it's apple, strawberry, raisin,  sugar cream or pumpkin, pies of all stripes are celebrated today.  Here are five favorite pie recipes from Amish365.com for you to peruse: :

    GOOSEBERRY PIE: Gooseberries seem to be an acquired taste. If you've managed to acquire it, click here for a wonderful recipe.
    MILK PIE: This is a classic, scratch-made easy Amish confection. If your pantry is pretty bare, you probably still can whip this up.  Click here for Milk Pie.
    BEST CHOCOLATE PIE: Mmmmmmm, combine the silky sweet goodness of chocolate with a crust....and you get an awesome chocolate pie. Click here for the recipe.

      It looks like the 'just pie' recipe is the same as the Sugar Cream Pie recipe 🙂
