Some of the most fun times I have with my kids are just sort of spontaneous moments that occur out of nothing. The other week my wife was taking Bea to the doctor to be seen for a garden-variety winter ailment.  Not wanting to take Aster into a germ-filled doctor's office unnecessarily, she and I headed next door to where there was a Big Lots. For those reading this from another country, Big Lots is a USA-based discount chain that sells anything from furniture to fig newtons. I hadn't been in a Big Lots in quite some time. I used to live within walking distance of one when I went to college and I was continually amazed at the decent, cheap food selection that had. And that was almost 20 years ago. Things have only gotten better, I even spied a few organic type items on their shelves.  Aster had fun checking out the furniture and the toys and all too soon our fun adventure was over, but here are some scenes:
Wow, I hadn't seen these anywhere before...tempting to put those in the cart...
Aster trying on some shades...
I was surprised at the selection of furniture found in Big Lots, some of it was really nice....
Ah, soda...plenty of it....
Aster grabbed my phone and snapped this photo of her doll riding in our cart...I felt silly pushing around a doll....

I just bought some Serta sheet sets at ours. Inexpensive and they feel wonderful to sleep on! Plus the fitted sheet has elastic all around so it won't slip off the bed....score!!!

Sounds like a win, thanks for sharing!
