A court convicted Sam Mullet, leader of a breakaway sect of Amish, for masterminding last year's bizarre beard-cutting attacks on other Amish in Ohio and Michigan. Â I've spoken with many Amish in numerous communities about him over the past several months. Â Amish people seem to view him with a mix of contempt, revulsion, and in some cases, a laughingstock. Â I've talked to people who have known Sam Mullet for a long time and describe him as a colorful character, even years ago. One Amish man I met bought some horses from Sam Mullet quite some time ago and said he was a force to be reckoned with even back then. The Daily, an online newspaper, ironically, sat down with Sam Mullet for an exclusive interview. It sounds like prison life isn't really agreeing with him. Â Click here to read the full interview.
