A reader kindly sent me an invite to join her and her co-workers on a 21-day Day "No Junk Food Challenge" beginning this Thursday. I SHOULD do it. Â I should.....Will I? Â I'm not sure if I am there yet....although I am edging closer mentally (as I sip my morning Coke). Â My problem would be, after 21 days, what then? Â There's no realistic way I could stick to this forever, so would I then just gorge myself back up to my pre-challenge weight? Â I'm sure if I did this I'd melt off pounds like crazy during the 21 days.
When I read the challenge rules, I could do most of them pretty easily, I think. Â The one that would - of course - trip me up is the no soda. Â The no white bread could be easily supplanted with wheat or multi-grain. Â Chocolate and candy are easy enough for me to give up. Â I could probably replace ice cream with sorbet easily and make some kale chips or zucchini crisps to replace chips.
Keeping weight off shouldn't be so difficult. Â Eat fewer calories than you consume and mix in some good exercise. Â SIGH, for such a simple formula, though, the end result is so elusive.
What would you have the most difficulty giving up?
Here is the challenge:

The theory is great but for most of us, it's impossible to follow. I have some weight to lose and yes have cut out a lot of the junk food and candy that I was stuffing in my face. I think the best rule is everything in moderation. Of course I don't have to be trying the Amish foods to be tempted with and therefore God Bless.

Yea, Joan, I agree...I could maybe follow it for 21 days, but beyond that? Near impossible...

I have a VERY disciplined food regimen and still have a weight challenge. You know that little thing in ones neck called a thyroid that so many jokingly blame for their excess weight ?? it is true !!! it is so easy to be critical of ourselves and others over weight. the old advice about knowing our physical condition before embarking on a diet change really is true......

My friends from church have been trying to lose weight biblically and I have done without junk for a week now its not been easy I love to be in the kitchen cooking and baking but through prayer and Philippians 4:13 I can do ALL things through Christ which strengtheneth me I am doing pretty good so far

Sounds like a good approach, good luck!

Eat less exercise more 21 day challenge. Always works for me.
