Pop Culture Food: Cut Coke and Lose 112 Pounds? And All Day Breakfast!

Those on my email list (and if you are not on it, why not?) know that I am battle a Coke habit.  I think it's an addiction like anything else.  At least in a way.  I guess a true addiction is something that you just can't quit doing.  With soda, I CAN quit...I have before, but I always seem to come back to it.  The taste of a fizzy, cold Coke running down my throat from a just-opened can is throat-ticklingly amazing.  I'm not sure I'll ever want to give it up completely, but I do need to cut back.  And, wow, if this isn't inspiration to do so, I don't know what is:

British Woman Loses 112 Pounds By Kicking Coke.

And, apparently, that was really her only dietary change. Amazing.  I'll go back to sipping my unsweetened tea now.

On another topic, it's always been a mild annoyance that if you want a fast-food breakfast you have to do it by 10:30 a.m.   Who eats a burger at 10:35 a.m.?   And why are eggs so ingrained in our culinary culture as a morning-only food?  Well, McDonald's, is try to crack the egg stereotype with breakfast all day. Woo-hoo!  It's about time.  Now if I want my Egg McMuffin at 7 p.m. I can do so.  Click here to read more about the soon-to-arrive Breakfast All Day at McDonald's!

Yep, I hear you on the Coke thing. I need to quit too. And yes, if you can quit you will be amazed at how the pounds fall off. It happens every time I can quit. I have a hard time quitting because weather changes give me bad headaches and coke helps the tylenol work better 🙂 Good luck!

I certainly understand "easier said than done", but if you really want to stop the Coca Cola addiction, then it must be total. Otherwise one remains on a rollercoaster and nothing will change. One needs to understand they have the right(so-to-speak) to say "NO"to oneself+be disciplined enough to stick to it. Rest assured it is NOT easy, but well worth the effort.
      Blessings, Carol

We have had Breakfast all day at our Mc Donalds here is western Kentucky for over 2 months. LOVE IT.. Mine is the Breakfast sausage burrito. Yum. I traveled to northern Indiana two weeks ago and stopped to get one of the burritos about noon. No deal. I guess the south was the trial section of the country to see if was going to pay off. Guess it did as we have it all the time and it is staying.
