Sometimes when I am on the road I just happen onto random scenes that are too interesting not to share, but they don't really fit in with anything...remember the Mystery Elephant of Dillsboro? I haven't seen any mystery elephants lately, but I've seen some scenes worth sharing which I thought I would do today.
They don't make `em like this anymore. Look at this gorgeous courthouse I passed recently in Sidney , Ohio...it was built in 1881 and is still in use today.
Not the best photo in the world, but this is the IGA in Presque Isle, Maine. SIGH, I know I probably overromantize IGAs, but these sleepy little groceries reminder me of an earlier era...if you have an IGA in your hometown still, embrace it....
I stumbled upon "Hubcap Heaven" outside of Houlton, Maine....sheesh, this looks like the place to get a hubcap if you are looking for one...
I went into a tiny supermarket in Riviere-Bleue, Quebec and, not surprisingly, most groceries were labeled in French. That would be fun. It was a very old-fashioned, small-town supermarket with an onsite butcher and everything in French. Was fun to try to put my four years of high school French to use...
