Have some interesting stuff in this week's blogroll. Or I should say delicious. This week's blogroll is all food and there's a little something for everyone, so let's get started!
Mmmm, Amish fruit bars...
AMISH FRUIT BARS: Patricia at the Patchwork Quilt blog posted this recipe from the classic Amish "Wooden Spoon" cookbook by Miriam Miller. This recipe is an absolute vintage Amish one and these bars look amazing. If I were at Patricia's house, I would have eaten the entire pan full, I am sure. These are just so indescribably good. I've had them before, they are this sweet, chewy, fruity, but not overpoweringly sweet, bar of dessert. Click here for the recipe!

RHUBARB COCONUT PECAN RAISIN COOKIES: Man, these cookies sound amazing and are just packed with awesome ingredients that I can't see how you'd go wrong. These aren't Amish per se, but Meemaw, who writes the blog, is from Kalona, Iowa and her recipes are often heavily Amish influenced and this is one would seem to be no exception since rhubarb is such a staple in Amish homes. AMISH ONION PATTIES: Mmmm, I love onions. I love anything fried. I love these. I have had them before, it's been years and years and years ago, but, yeah, these are awesome. Dip them in some ranch and they get more awesome. Click here for the recipe.
AMISH RHUBARB DREAM BARS: This is another fruit bar type recipe but decidedly Amish and decidedly rhubarb. Click here for these awesome snacks!

THREE-LAYER PARSNIP CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING: Whoa....what is there to say about this??? This recipe appeared on The Mennonite.org's blog in April and I just now saw it. The best comparison they can provide is that it is sort of like a carrot cake with a "nuttier" and "funkier" flavor. This sounds like an amazing cake, perhaps a bit labor intensive, but amazing and probably worth the effort. Click here for the recipe.
