Saturday Blogroll: Amish Peanut Butter Spread, Southern Ohio Amish, Cinnamon Bread, and Pretzels

    Published: Sep 7, 2013 · Updated: Sep 7, 2013 by Kevin Williams | 1 Comment

It is Saturday so that means it is time to explore what is being written about Plain people throughout the blogosphere! Sometimes crazy stuff is written, other times interesting, I like to explore and share it all.  Have some neat posts to share today, nothing crazy, just fun!:)

PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD:  I've written about this classic confection before.  This sinfully sweet blend of peanut butter, marshmallow creme and corn syrup is a staple at Amish weddings and church services. Most people just spread the sweetness on a slice of bread, although some people get more adventurous. I like mine on a slice of bread. Yum. Yum.  A blogger made a batch and shares her experience here.

SOUTHERN OHIO AMISH COUNTRY:  A blogger writes about what he christens "The Amish Trail" in southern Ohio. It's a great compilation of Amish and Mennonite businesses in the area. I've written a lot about the growing Amish presence in this part of the Buckeye State and I think it will only continue to grow.

AMISH CINNAMON BREAD:  Here is an easy stir and bake recipe for an Amish-style cinnamon bread. Easy and yummy!

MENNONITE PRETZEL DYNASTY:   The Plain people and pretzels are synonymous..think Auntie Anne's. But a Mennonite family in Update New York is also carving out its own pretzel empire. Anyone heard of Martin's Pretzels? Click here for a great read about this interesting family.

Thank you for picking up and linking to my blog about the Amish-Mennonite Trail. I now have a website dedicated to promoting the presence of these communities in my area of Ohio. You may want to take a look at it and possibly provide a link for your readers. The site is:
