This first recipe is an old, old very authentic chocolate cake recipe given to me by an Amish woman in the Berne, Indiana community and I was going to post just that and then I got to thinking of all the other delicious, amazing chocolate cake recipes we've posted here, so I made a little collection below. Some of the instructions on this first one are a bit spare, but I tried my best to tease out as much specifics as possible.
SO SOFT CREAMY CHOCOLATE CAKE
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 /4 teaspoons salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
1 cup Miracle whip
1 tablespoon vanilla
Mix salad dressing, heavy cream, and water, add dry ingredients.
Pour into cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
Cool and add your favorite frosting
